Indigenous Programs

Eye AI believes in access to quality healthcare for all Australians. Our corporate governance insists on driving screening programs for remote communities and indigenous populations. We work with our partners to offer retinal screening for optical and cardiovascular analysis,  and paediatric ENT  screening programs.

Indigenous Australian's and Diabetes

Diabetes prevalence

Over 5% of Australians had diabetes in 2022.  That number is three times higher in the Aborginal and Torres Islander population, in a community which struggles to access consistent medical screening programs or specialists.

Retinal Screening Remote Communities

Using Eye AI's simple retinal scan processes, we can utilise existing allied health teams in adding retinal scans to existing programs as well as setting up new scans. Having an on the spot accurate screening diagnosis by our registered AI medical product allows for identification of patients who will need to go onto specialist care centres in major cities. This triage process helps with reducing the number of cases of unnecessary blindness in remote Australians.

Additional Medical Screening

In addition to diabetic retinopathy, age related macular degeneration, glaucoma and cataract analysis, the same retinal scan can also be used for cardiovascular screening for early detection of at-risk -patients. Research is underway to also identify Alzheimer's and Parkinsons disease using this technology, which will be part of the Eye AI platform of screening programs soon.
